Walter Irving Gibson,'s Obituary
Walter Irving Gibson, Jr., 85, of Richfield, NC, passed away Sunday April 26, 2020 in Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabcenter. Services for Mr. Gibson will be held at a later date.
Mr. Gibson was born August 11,1934 and was the son of the late Walter Irving Gibson, Sr. and Lucile Brown Gibson. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Walter formerly worked at Pfeiffer University as the bookstore and business manager. He retired from the Stanly County Farm Bureau after a insurance career of seventeen years. Walter was a former member of the Richfield Civitan Club and Pfeiffer ? North Stanly Water Association Board. He loved fishing and playing golf. Mr. Gibson was a member of New London United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees.
Walter is survived by his wife Mildred Wheless Gibson. He is survived by a son, Alan B. Gibson and wife Jennifer of Albemarle, NC and three grandchildren, Andrew Gibson, Luke Gibson and Rachel Gibson.
