Vann Lowder Perry's Obituary
Vann Lowder Perry passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the age of 89 in her longtime home of Stanly County, N.C.
Born on February 22, 1936, in Albemarle, N.C., to Harold Lee and Metta Loflin Lowder, Vann was preceded in death by both her parents and her husband of 59 years, JD Perry. She is survived by a number of family members including her sister, Sue Lowder Frye of Albemarle, N.C., and three nieces, Susie (Rodney) Furr of Albemarle, N.C., Amy (Jonathan) Berry of Greensboro, N.C., and Sally (Lee) Elliott of Walnut Cove, N.C.
After graduating from Albemarle Senior High, Vann attended Morgans Business School and later earned an associate degree in accounting from Stanly Community College. She was a lifelong member of the West Albemarle Baptist Church, serving the church as a member of its hospitality committee and choir for many years. Vann was also a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Albemarle, N.C.
A private burial is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025, followed by a service at 2 p.m. open to all at Stanly Funeral Home Chapel led by Reverend Brent Pope. Visitation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sid Talbert Youth Fund at West Albemarle Baptist Church in Vann’s name.
