Tommy Deroice Starnes' Obituary
Mr. Tommy Deroice Starnes, age 84, of Indian Trail, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Indian Trail, North Carolina.
Mr. Starnes was born on December 5, 1928, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late Wade Hampton Starnes and Blanch Long Starnes.
Mr. Starnes was a roofer for Mid Atlantic Roofing for over 20 years. One of his favorite hobbies was racing dirt track cars. He also enjoyed going to car shows and watching NASCAR races.
Survivors include his son, Michael Starnes and wife Tina Starnes of Indian Trail, and daughter Sonya Alviso and husband Tony Alviso of Indian Trail; four grandchildren, Brooke Starnes, Cassie Starnes, Kellan Ingram and David WhitleyIII; and two great grandchildren, Aleigha Whitley and Lily Bennett.
