Ruby Smith Pickler's Obituary
Ruby Smith Pickler, 91, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Trinity Place, Albemarle, NC. A graveside service will be held at the Stony Hill UMC Cemetery on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 3pm conducted by the Rev. Leslee Wray and Rev. Kelly Grissman.
Ruby was born in Stanly County, NC on October 6, 1933, to the late Moses Alexander Smith and Bessie Missouri Jones Smith.
Ruby retired from the Albemarle City School System in June of 1985 where she was the Child Nutrition Director. She was a member of Stony Hill UMC and enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Ruby was married to the late Gilbert Pickler and is survived by her son, Mickey Pickler of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Tammy Crump of Locust, NC; granddaughter, Millie Bryan of Albemarle, NC; great-grandchildren, Maddeline Allman and Gauge Bryan. She is predeceased by brothers, Horace Smith and Ray Smith; sisters, Elizabeth Stockton, Nancy Smith and Arlene Burleson.
