Roy Kenneth Talbert's Obituary
Roy Kenneth Talbert, 87, of Albemarle passed away January 26, 2017 in Stanly Manor.? His funeral service will be at 2:30 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Congregational Christian Church with Rev. John Giddens officiating.? Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory with full military rites by the Stanly County DAV Ritual Team.? The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30pm prior to the service at Congregational Christian Church.
Born July 13, 1929 in Stanly County, NC he was the son of the late Clyde Talbert and Etta Jane Blake Talbert.? He was a graduate of Albemarle High School and he attended Pfeiffer College.? He was a life long member of Congregational Christian Church.? Mr. Talbert was a former Albemarle City Councilman and was a retired US Postal Carrier with 33 years of service.? He was a Veteran of the US Air Force and Air Force Reserve.
Mr. Talbert is survived by his wife, Alma Helen Russell Talbert, with whom he would have celebrated his 68th Anniversary in August.? Other survivors include Son Richard Wayne ?Rick? Talbert and wife Donna Gathings Talbert of North Myrtle Beach, SC, daughter Cynthia Talbert ?Cindy? Sigmon and husband Robert Keith Sigmon of Albemarle, sister Ruby Troutman of Albemarle, grandchildren Summer Safrit and husband Steffi of Waxhaw, Corey Talbert of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Robert Keith Sigmon II and Stephen Denning of Albemarle, Lindsey Sigmon Almond and husband Chris of Patuxent River, MD, and Anna Sigmon Nester and husband Will of Christianburg, VA. He was the proud Great Grandfather of Mia, Elaina, Brennan, and Max.
A son Roy Kenneth ?Kenny? Talbert and a sister Kathleen ?Kitty? Price preceded him in death.
Alzeheimers may have taken his memory, but we will always keep his memories alive.
