Robert Leslie Garmon, Sr, 90, of Norwood, NC, passed away Friday December 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. A Graveside service is scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday December 27, 2023 at Randall’s United Methodist Church w Read Obituary

I only had 1 minor "run in" with Mr Garmon at Northwest so I would have never guessed that over 30 years after I graduated I would walk into an office at the Cabarrus County Admin building to get a bill of lading signed for a shipment I was delivering there and the man behind the desk would not only recognize me but instantly called me by name. That man was Mr Garmon and that left a huge lasting impression on me. Rest in peace Mr Garmon and prayers to the family.
Best Principal ever! He swung a smoking hot paddle that made tears come to my eyes. I earned every swing. Made me respect him and I became a better person because of his work as my principal. God used Mr Garman well and now he is in the presence of Jesus forever waiting on the rest of those whosoever will believe in Jesus. Bless this awesome family as they mourn and celebrate him in Jesus name. AMEN!

He paddled my butt several times in high school, and I love everyone of them , he made a man out of me and I admired him to this day , rest in peace Bob ,all of Northwest Cabarrus high School loves you
We were so fortunate to have Mr. Garmon as principal at Northwest Cabarrus High School. He was such a good man. We are all so sorry for your loss.
