Phyllis Sensabaugh Hughes' Obituary
Phyllis Jean Sensabaugh Hughes, 85, of New London, NC, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at her daughter’s home. Her funeral service will be 4pm Friday, October 29, 2021 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel. Burial will be held 12pm Saturday, October 30 at Thornrose Cemetery, Staunton, VA. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3pm until 3:45pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hughes was born November 4, 1935 in Staunton, VA, to the late Robert Edward Sensabaugh and Bessie Smiley Sensabaugh. She graduated from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA. Mrs. Hughes was a co-owner of Southern paper with her husband in Roanoke, VA and she also had her Real-estate License. Phyllis was a active member of the ABWA and the Eastern Star in Roanoke, VA. She was a member of Chandlers Grove Methodist Church in New London, Badin Lake area.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Hughes. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Marie Manspile of New London, NC, Badin Lake area.
