Mike loved to talk, he could talk to anyone anywhere. What he liked to talk about most with people was about their salvation, and did they love their God. I admired him for that, we all should follow in his footsteps. What I remember most was his crazy cooking habits. He would put pickle juice on about anything, and make up some wonderful food from his summer garden. Rest well in the arms of our Lord, Michael. Your infectious smile will be missed.

Our condolences and Prayers for the Carrick family. Mike and I graduated in the same class of ‘66, he did love his Lord Jesus. We use to eat breakfast at both McD’s and Mike would talk to us about his faith. I lost touch with Mike when my wife and I moved to Charleston, SC in 1980-2006, then we moved back to Albemarle after retiring. Mike was one of the first friends I met upon moving back, and it was almost like seeing him during high school. R.I.P. my friend.
