Michael Anthony “Mike” Carlson, 61, of Albemarle, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at McAuley Read Obituary
I worked with Mike at the Sheriff's Office for a couple of years. He was one of my first training officers. Mike was hilarious and laughed a lot. We would talk about the Marines a lot and compare stories. He was a joy to be around. I've thought about him often through the years. My condolences to his family. He was a wonderful human being.
I worked with Mike Carlson for about 8 years. I most say everyday was a day of laughter and joy. Mike was a smart down to earth guy. He was always thoughtful and had a genuine concern for everyone. Michael Carlson will truly be missed.
My favorite memory of Michael was when we would visit at grandma and grandpa house. All of us cousins played. Celebrated birthdays anniversary all together. Also seeing Michael going into the marines and coming home. And the day out of the blue he showed up on my doorstep. He will be dearly missed. He had a very kind 💜
