I want to express my deepest sympathy to the Williams Family on the loss of Mr. Williams. While researching my Grandfather's ship, the USS Anne Arundel, I stumbled on this sad news. Please know, Mr. Williams (and all the men who served with him on this ship) are American heroes! I know my Grandfather (Arthur J. Koch) attended a few reunions, and I am sure they knew each other. God bless Mr. Williams and those who are still here to carry on his legacy.
Dear Nancy, Tootie and SusanBill and I were saddened last night when Malcom McCloud called with the news that Blackie had passed away. Blackie, what a great guy. We have so many wonderful memories of Blackie at the Anne Arundell Renuions over the years. When our attention was needed, oh my, could Blackie whistle. We all came to attention. He always made sure everyone knew they were welcomed each year. I loved listening to the stories that he would tell of his many, many experiences. He truly was a member of the Greatest Generation.
