Margaret Almond Shepherd's Obituary
Margaret Almond Shepherd, 86, of Albemarle passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 in her home. Her funeral service will be 3 pm Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Sweet Home Baptist Church with Rev. Preston Young presiding. Burial will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle.
Born January 8, 1935 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Charlie Almond and Irene Ribelin Almond. She was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church and was a retired officer with the Albemarle Police Department. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and she loved her family.
Mrs. Shepherd was preceded in death by her husband Windsor Lee "Bill" Shepherd in 2015. Survivors include son Kenneth Shepherd of New London, daughters Judy Ann Shepherd of Ellerbe and Shirley Shepherd Barringer of Albemarle, son-in-law Warren Barringer, brothers C. W. Almond of Oxford, NC and Ewell Ray Almond of New London, sisters Kathryn Keener of New London and Jewell Fay Faggart of New London 5 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
