Larry George Long's Obituary
Larry George Long, 71, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC. His funeral service will be held at Howell's Baptist Church, 3800 Baptist Lane, Concord, NC on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 2:30 pm with his great-nephew Stacey Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm.
Mr. Long was born February 15, 1950 in Concord, NC, to the late Bonner Franklin Long and Helen Harrison Long. He worked as a Gun Salesman at Hyatt's Gun & Coin Shop in Charlotte, NC. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and sharing all his vast knowledge of the outdoors.
Larry is survived by his wife, Marjorie Long of 50 years. He is also survived by two daughters, Wendy Tucker and husband Greg of Oakboro and Candy Russell of Stanfield; four grandchildren, Allison Teeter, John Owen Tucker, Cali Dean Russell and Laney Ruth Tucker; a great-grandchild, Asher Lee Dedmon; brother, Garry Long and wife Elizabeth and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Tucker Hospice House, 5005 Hospice Ln, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
