Karen Gott's Obituary
Mrs. Karen Medlin Gott, age 64, of Asheville, North Carolina, formerly of Akron, Ohio, and Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Sunday (August 11, 2013) at The Laurels of Summit Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
A Graveside Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Karen Medlin Gott will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday (August 15, 2013) at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery, officiated by Reverend J. Michael Brown.
A reception will follow the burial service in the Azalea Room at Davis Funeral Home, 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe, North Carolina.
Karen was born on April 24, 1949, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Arthur Smith Medlin and Sarah Frances Walden Medlin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Gott and a brother, Jerry Medlin.
She was a retired clerk with the Summit County Sheriff's Department, and was formerly employed with the Union County Register of Deeds Office.
Survivors include her uncle and aunt, H. Nelson Walden and Mary Starnes Walden of Swannanoa; her aunt, Kay Walden Lathan of Monroe; cousins, Tonia Walden of Swannanoa, Eric Walden and wife, Carol, of New Zealand, Greg Walden of Tega Cay, SC, and Gil Walden and wife, Sheila, of Asheville, Linda Tarlton and husband, Jimmy, of Monroe, Lisa Hancock and husband, Frankie, of Monroe, and special niece, Kelli Headley of Suwanee, GA, niece, Tammy Quinlan of Monroe and nephew, Terry Medlin of Monroe, and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday (August 15, 2013) from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM one hour prior to the service at Davis Funeral Home; 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
