JT Swaringen's Obituary
JT Swaringen, 88, of New London passed away on June 15, 2023 in his home. His graveside service will be 11 AM Saturday, June 17, 2023 in the New London Cemetery with Rev. Mark Swaringen and officiating. There will be no visitation.
Born August 7, 1934 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late John Grover Swaringen and Clarice McIntyre Swaringen. He was a member First Baptist Church of New London. He loved God, church, family his friends and neighbors. JT enjoyed gardening and sharing with others.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Judy Carter Swaringen. Other survivors include children, Kathy S. Morrison (husband George) of Peachland, Gene Swaringen (wife Nancy) of New London and Tim Swaringen (wife June) of New London, and four grandchildren; Brooke Morgan, Melody M. Biles, Dusty Swaringen and Emily S. Pickett; two great-grandsons, Logan and Joshua Biles; three brothers, John Henry Swaringen (wife Sue), Conrad Swaringen (wife Helen) and Gerald Swaringen (wife Janet). He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Lee Swaringen and Lane Swaringen and two sisters, Irene Mabry and Ruth Kimrey.
