Jonathan Allen Parker's Obituary
Jonathan Allen Parker, 52, of Albemarle, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015 surrounded by his family, at Stanly Regional Medical Center. Jonathan courageously fought a yearlong battle with cancer. Through it all his faith remained strong and he still maintained his sense of humor. He will long be remembered for his big smile and his love for life. His funeral service will be at 1:30 PM Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Stoney Benfield, Rev. Tony Thomas, and Rev. Tom Dorman officiating. Burial will follow in Centerview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 AM until 1 PM prior to the service.
Jonathan was born December 14, 1962 in Harnett County, NC. He was the son of Marvin J. Parker of Benson, NC and Ollie Mclamb Parker of Dunn, NC. He was a graduate of South Johnston High School and was an employee of Rusco Fixture Co. in Oakboro, NC. Jonathan was a member at Prospect Baptist Church where he was active in Sunday school, the choir, and the Witness Ensemble Group.? Jonathan was also a member of the Southern Rodeo Association.
Jonathan is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tracy Troutman Parker, of the home. Other survivors include: a daughter, Jesi Shyanne Parker of Albemarle; a son, William Dane Parker of Albemarle; three brothers, Marvin A. Parker and wife Winnie of McRae, GA, Dane Parker of Dunn, NC, and Kevin Parker and wife Ginger of Fort Dixx, NJ; and a sister, Roxanne Parker of Garner, NC. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chris Parker.
