Johnny Ray Penegar's Obituary
Mr. Johnny Ray Penegar, age 75, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, at his residence.
Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Penegar will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Lee Park Baptist Church, 2505 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe ,NC 28110, officiated by Reverend Chris Justice. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Penegar was born on August 21, 1939 in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late John Ray Penegar, and Sarah Fisher Penegar. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Penegar.
Johnny was employed with United Parcel Service (UPS) with many years of dedicated service. He was also a US Navy Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Jane G. Penegar of Monroe; two daughters, Michelle P. Whitaker and husband Ronnie of Wingate and Shana P. Byers and husband Mark of Marvin; a brother, Phil Penegar and wife Georgia of Dallas, GA; a sister-in-law Donna Penegar of Monroe. There are four grandchildren, Greyson and Collin Whitaker of Wingate, Ellison and Kendall Byers of Marvin.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Davis Funeral Home in Monroe, 1003 East Franklin Street.
