John Cavender's Obituary
John Cavender, 85, retired MCPO (E9), USN, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday September 15,2020 at his home. A private memorial service will be held in memory of John. There will not be a family visitation.
Mr. Cavender was born April 24, 1935 in Tellico Plains, TN and was the son of the late John Henry Cavender and Iva Mae Giles Cavender. John earned an Associates Degree from Central Piedmont and he retired from Duke Power where he was a QA inspector. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. John retired from the United States Navy with twenty one years of service.
John is survived by his wife Verda Cavender of sixty three years of the home. He is also survived by a son, Daniel Cavender (Lori) of Kannapolis, NC; two daughters Patti Brigman of Huntersville, NC and Angela Cavender of Oakboro, NC; brother Clyde Cavender (Pat) of Lisbon Falls, ME; sisters Peggy Hinkle (Dennis) of Maryville, TN and Clara Jenkins (Leroy) of Edenton, NC and beloved granddaughter Amanda Brigman of Charlotte, NC.
