Jerry had to be one of my favorite residents he became very close to my heart . I will never forget every I love you he said to me every day when I came to work. No matter where I was I always made a point to come find him and give him a kiss on the cheek and say I love you Jer Bear and he would say "well I'm not sure what your speaking of and that's beside the point but I love you too" I'll never forget the story's or countless hours of jut talking to him. Jerry never failed to make me smile or laugh even on a bad day . He was so sweet so funny and so caring and I loved him so very much ! It was hard to see him go but my Jer Bear made it home !!!! Jerry I will never forget you and I will always love you and have a very special place in my heart for you! It was an extreme honor to be a part of your life and I would do it all over again ! Rest easy my sweet I love you ! Love always "The silly redhead"

I knew Jerry was indeed a southern gentleman. He will be missed, his influence extended beyond the community and his kindness will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace and his memories live long in your hearts. To the family I will be praying that you will remember the man that he was and live as he expected you too.
I first met Jerry when my husband Gene Garris and I moved from Goldsboro to work with Jerry at the Jewel Box. We both like Jerry a lot. He was always a very happy and smiling person. . He will certainly be missed by lots of people. My prayers to the family..
How I adored this man. And so did my mom. So many memories of visiting him at his store when he was in the same building as Bank of Stanly.. Dear dear friend. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.
