James Joseph McCormack's Obituary
Mr. James Joseph McCormack, age 85, of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Monroe, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014, at his residence.
Memorial Services to celebrate the life of James McCormack will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, officiated by Reverend Ralph Holt.
The family will receive friends following the ceremony in the Dogwood Room at Davis Funeral Home.
Mr. McCormack was born on June 4, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late Joseph Aloysius McCormack and Mary Martha Leib McCormack.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary Anne McCormack; his younger brother, Donald McCormack; his second wife Raymelle Threadgill McCormack.
Mr. McCormack spent his career as an accredited hardware consultant for several firms in New York. He retired to North Carolina, and spent the last 20 years in this state.
He was also a member of Sutton Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Transou and husband Rusty of Matthews; a son, James J. McCormack Jr. and wife Kathy of Hartford, CT; a daughter, Elizabeth McCormack of St. Petersburg, FL.
There are six grandchildren, William and Jack Transou of Matthews; and Molly, Meghan, Kathleen and Patrick McCormack of Hartford, CT.
