James Lee Lowder's Obituary
James Lee Lowder, 88, of Albemarle passed away Monday, October 2, 2017.? His funeral service will be 4 PM Thursday, at Palestine United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin McCormac officiating.? Burial will follow in the church cemetery.? The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
Born February 26, 1929 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late John Ernest Lowder and Eliza Sylina Morton Lowder.? He was a retired carpenter with Wiscassett Mills Co.? Mr. Lowder raised chickens and loved tinkering with old automobiles.? He enjoyed watching TV and one of his favorite pastimes was drinking coffee with his good friend William Russell.
Mr. Lowder was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Lucille Dry Lowder and a son Eddie Ray Lowder.? Survivors include son Tommy L. Lowder Sr. (Julie) of Albemarle, daughters Nancy L. Frick (Earnest), Julie L. Simpson (Charles) and Cathy L. Huneycutt (Doyle) all of Albemarle, brother John W. Lowder (Debbie) of New London, sister Elizabeth Sossamon of Mt Pleasant, 9 grandchildren and 17-great-grandchildren.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is entrusted with arrangements.
