James Edwin ""Boot"" Broome's Obituary
Mr. James Edwin "Boot" Broome, age 81, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Novant Health in Matthews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Lynda Ferguson.
Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mr. Broome was born on July 24, 1933, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late Howard Ware Broome and Nannie Ruth Starnes Broome. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Broome Broome.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Mitchell Broome and Howard Ware Broome, Jr.
He was an owner and operator of Roughedge Trading and Convenience Store.
Survivors include three daughters, Anne B. Conner and husband Michael Conner of Monroe, Sharon B. Brooks of Monroe and Sandi B. Hayes and husband Ron Hayes of Monroe; a brother Gerald S. Broome and wife Charlene Broome of Monroe.
There are two grandchildren, Hanna C. Eudy and Zackary Boot Hayes both of Monroe.
Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Land Fund, 5300 Nesbit Road, Waxhaw, North Carolina 28173.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
