Jack Gene McIver's Obituary
Jack Gene McIver, 93, of Monroe passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 in Autumn Care of Marshville. A service will be held at 11 AM on February 23, 2024 at Benton Heights Presbyterian Church in Monroe.
Born May 27, 1930 in Mecklenburg County, NC, he was the son of the late Malcolm McIver and Myrtle Taylor McIver. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was a member of Benton Heights Presbyterian Church of Monroe, NC. Mr. McIver retired after 42 years in computer system sales, programming, installations, customer support, consulting, and various related management positions. He was a Golden Gloves boxer in Charlotte. He enjoyed gardening and serving in the church choir. He was also a volunteer at The Marshville Museum and he taught classes in genealogy research.
Mr. McIver was preceded in death by his wife Linda McIver in 2022. He is survived by 2 sons, Jack L. McIver (Cheryl) of Peachland, and Bradley Nathan McIver (Christine) of Coconut Creek, Florida, brother C. W. McIver (Debra) of Charlotte, sisters Kay McIver (Dave Lowe) of Charlotte, and Susan M. Abernathy (Coleman) of Athens, Georgia, two grandchildren Jack A. McIver of Matthews and Ana C. McIver of Avon Park, Florida, and 3 great-grandchildren, Aaron McIver, Brayson McIver and Nathan Easterday. Brothers, Gary McIver and David McIver preceded him in death.
