Gary Ned Carpenter's Obituary
Gary Ned Carpenter, 84, of Norwood passed away on January 10, 2025 in his home. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 2-4 PM at the Aquadale Fire Department.
Born September 11, 1940 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late A. C. Carpenter and Mary Sue Greene Carpenter. He was a member of Aquadale Baptist Church and was retired Truck Driver with Dixie Trucking Company. He was a vintage car enthusiast and enjoyed showing his 65 Ford Convertible. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family.
Mr. Carpenter is survived by his wife of 64 years Brenda Almond Carpenter. Other survivors include two daughters Tammy Vanhoy (Yancey) of Mt. Gilead and Amy Burris (Bill) of Albemarle, two brothers Reggie Carpenter of Norwood and Dan Carpenter of Norwood, two sisters Sheila Poplin of Albemarle and Sandy Curlee of Norwood, 5 grandchildren Tasha Springer, Chancey Whitley, Nick Curlee, Jordan Ridenhour and Carrie Ridenhour, 6 great grandchildren Carson Powe, Cassidy Powe, Willow Springer, Eleanor Curlee, Ivy-Rose Springer, and Ace Smith.
