Frederic Arthur Brault Jr.'s Obituary
Frederic Arthur Brault, Jr., 87, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully at his home on May 16, 2026.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, May 23rd at 2:00pm, with Pastor Brian Bolding, Dr. Denise Honeycutt, and Rev. Pat Watkins officiating.
Born June 6, 1938, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Frederic Arthur Brault, Sr. and Sue Brault Ellington. Fred devoted his professional life to a successful career in sales within the hydraulics and pneumatics industry, working for several companies throughout the years before retiring from Automation Technology in Concord. His ability to build lasting relationships, combined with his integrity and genuine care for others, earned him the respect and friendship of both colleagues and customers alike.
Fred will be remembered as a faithful and Godly man whose life was centered on love for his family, his friends, and his Lord. Those who knew him best remember his wonderful storytelling, generous spirit, unwavering faith, loving heart, and sense of humor. Even during life’s most difficult moments, Fred had a remarkable ability to bring laughter and lightness to those around him. His humor, optimism, and steady faith helped carry both family and friends through challenging times. Relationships were at the core of who he was, and he treasured the friendships he built throughout his life. He was the kind of friend who remained loyal and dependable through every season of life.
Family meant everything to Fred. He found great joy in preserving and sharing his family’s history and was known as the family historian, lovingly documenting stories, memories, and genealogy for future generations. Through his writings, he created a lasting legacy that will continue to connect and inspire his family for years to come.
He also enjoyed music, fishing, turkey and deer hunting, gardening, and the simple blessings of time spent outdoors. One of his favorite songs was I Can't Walk Without You Holding My Hand, a reflection of the deep faith that guided his life. He especially found comfort and strength in the many Bible verses reminding believers to “Be not afraid.” Through every challenge he faced, Fred remained steadfast in both life and faith, never giving up and always trusting in God’s grace.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Mary Lambert Brault; his children, Kip Byrne (Britt) of Charlotte, Mary Beth Brault of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Fred Brault III (MaryBeth) of Manakin-Sabot, Virginia, and Sarah Fox (Gordy) of Glen Allen, Virginia; his stepdaughter, Emily Weisenbeck (Craig) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; eighteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by those loved ones who welcomed him into eternal rest.
The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
