Elva Howard Self's Obituary
Elva Howard Self, 80, of Albemarle, NC, went peacefully to be with the Lord Friday, August 7, 2020 at Trinity Place Albemarle, NC.
Mrs. Self was born in Albemarle, NC, and was the daughter of the late Haywood Howard and Velma Kendall Howard.
Elva is survived by her husband of 58 years, William S. Self Sr. Elva also is survived by her children, the late William Stan Self Jr. of Pensacola, Fl. Terri Mielniczuk (Bill) of Pensacola, FL. Scott Kelly (Melita) of Pensacola, Fl. 1 grandchild, Holly Sabol and 4 great grandchildren, Alexis Henderson, Madalynne Henderson, Emilee Henderson and Lucas Henderson all of Pensacola, Fl. and numerous cousins that she loved dearly.
Elva was born November 24,1939. She graduated from Greensboro High, NC, then continued her education at Appalachian State Teachers College, NC. She was employed for the North Carolina Dept. of Revenue for 32 years. In her career of working for the state, she worked in Raleigh, NC and Charlotte, NC until she retired.
Elva was a long-time member of Green Memorial Methodist Church. She loved singing in the choir and also served as the Choir Director for many years. She also worked as a Sunday School Teacher in the Children's Dept.? She loved and served her Lord for many years and loved her church and family with such a loving heart. Elva was a blessing to everyone.????
