Elva Howard Self, 80, of Albemarle, NC, went peacefully to be with the Lord Friday, August 7, 2020 at Trinity Place Albemarle, NC. Mrs. Self was born in Albemarle, NC, and was the daughter of the late Haywood Howard and Velma Ken Read Obituary
Today I just found out about Elva taking her wings to heaven. We worked together for 20 years at the NC Dept. of Revenue. I loved Elva. She was a hoot to work with always smiling and keeping our Withholding Section a fun place to work. She was summoned to be on the grand jury and didn't want to serve because of all the work we had to do. But Elva did serve and just worked harder when back in the office. She never minded to answer a question pr teach a new employee. I really am sad she's not here in the flesh anymore but I know heaven is brighter and God is enjoying her funny wit. She loved Bill and her family very much. I'm so glad she was in my life. Jewelle Gould Boone
Elva was a very special and talented lady. We loved her at Green Memorial. She was a special part of our choir. She is missed but thankful she's healed and rejoicing in heaven.. God is so good. We were blessed to know and love her!
Elva was such a kind and loving person she is with Jesus singing with the Angels now. She will be missed by us all.
