Dorothy Stoker Carter's Obituary
Dorothy Lavina ?Dottie? Stoker Carter, 87, of Badin?passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehab Center in Albemarle. Her funeral will be Saturday, February 4 at 2 PM in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sid Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2 PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at Prospect Baptist Church cemetery following the service.
Born December 30, 1929 in Davidson County, NC, Dottie was the daughter of the late Arthur Glenn Stoker and Esther Mae Eagle Stoker. She was a member of Badin Baptist Church. Dottie worked for 57 years as a self-employed beautician. She touched the lives of so many people while visiting them in the hospital or while doing their hair. She cared deeply for every person she came in contact with and will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Carter was married to the late Dewey Elwood Carter. She is survived by one brother Glenn Edward Stoker of Badin, one sister Hazeline S. Luck of Midland, TX, three nephews, Camden L Stoker, Tom Luck, and Terry Luck and one niece Dawn Ezell.
In addition to her husband, Dottie is preceded in death by one nephew, Dale Luck. The family would like to express a special thanks to her friends on staff at the Taylor House, Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehab Center, and Community Hospice for their exceptional care for Dottie.
