DONALD GENE ROZZI
July 13, 1945 - January 10, 2024

Donald Gene Rozzi (78) of Monroe, NC passed away on January 10, 2024, after a short but
valiant fight with prostate cancer. He is survived by his wife, Ana Rozzi, his stepdaughters,
Angelica (James) Morgan, Kmari Fraticelli, granddaughter, Vanessa (Terrence) Kasminoff,
brother John (Barbara Ann) Rozzi, Jr., his niece, Vera McMurray.
Don was born in Brooklyn, NY to John Rozzi. Sr. and Caroline (Keppler). Don graduated from
East New York Vocational & Technical HS, Brooklyn. From an early age, Don was fascinated
by cars and what made them run. His knowledge of cars was legendary. Many a morning, I
awoke to Don on the phone with another car enthusiast or novice asking for advice. Everyone
who knew him and loved him understood that Don always had a story and enjoyed telling it
(sometimes more than once).
Don loved dogs and always had a dog (oftentimes more than one) beside him. In later years, he
loved his pugs-Myles (his first pug love), Marley, Maya, Monroe and the latest, Max. Max is
missing his best friend very much and won't leave the bed he shared up until the end. I'm sure
all his many dogs and Sam (our only cat) will be waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge.
My family and I wish to celebrate Don's life and invite his friends to please join us on Sunday,
January 21, 2024, 12-3 pm at our home, 1500 Griffith Road, Monroe, NC 28112. Let's reminisce
and tell any story you wish to share of your memories, encounters with Don.
