As we remember Don, we remember someone with such a big heart , warm and always willing to lend a hand . A man full of knowledge and provided guidance when needed. And what a great story teller. Thank you Don for entertaining us with many of your adventures . He touched so many lives and inspired those he met with his words of wisdom and encouragement. We share so many great moments that will stayed etched in our minds and in our hearts forever. I like to share a paragraph from a memorial poem :“ Please do not be unhappy just because I’m out of sight.Remember that I’m with you every morning, noon and night. That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,God picked me up and hugged me tight & said, “ I welcome you†. You will be missed . Love you .
Ana, my heart aches for you. Don was such a great guy. I remember being do fascinated by his ability to build and his love of antiques and history. I always think of him and his “Declaration of Independence†table. Sending you so much love.
So sorry that you are no longer with us. May you rest in peace. I remember when you helped me out with the sale of the Jeep Wrangler. You were there for me from start to finish. I will never forget all the help you gave me. Thank you so much for that. You will be deeply missed. God bless.
Shalom Aleichem. Well I just heard a few days ago another really good friend (more like family) has died. Donald "the Rozz" Rozzi07/13/1945 - 01/11/2024I met Don "the Rozz" 48 year's ago at Gershow boneyard in Riverhead Long Island New York. We were both scrapping a car and struck up a conversation, we've been friend's ever since. We became real tight friend's and I've always considered the Rozz my brother. My then brother-in-law Kenny P an I had a small Tow Truck company (K & M) and we were doing okey. We kept running into the Rozz at various bone-yards on the Island an eventually we formed a friendship an eventually ABBA Towing along with a friend of his named Jerry. We were located in Central Islip New York. The Rozz loved Corvettes and big block Chevy Engine's especially 454's.The Rozz bought a house out in Farmingville Long Island and with it comes a funny, (pain in the ass) story. The Rozz had a designer license plate with Dons454 on it.A guy in Farmingdale Long Island (Nassau County) who's name was Don Rossi was also a Chevy Big Block lover and had a designer plate with Don454 on it.They each kept getting the other's tickets (mostly parking tickets) until finally they had to go to court.I went with the Rozz to Court. We took the tow truck because we had to pickup a car in Oyster Bay, in fact I believe the tow truck with the car on the hook was out in the courts parking lot?The bailiff calls out Donald Rozzi and they both stood up, looked at each other with puzzled looks and approached the bench. What happened next was hilarious as the judge was as perplexed as they were.It took Don year's to straighten out that mess, I think it even followed him to Pa as he was still getting parking tickets in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. The Rozz an I worked together and hung out together.I quit the mechanic business for a while and pursued a career in the Trucking industry and we lost touch with each other for awhile.Than FascistBook came out an I looked him up & low and behold I found him and we renewed our friendship. I've met a lot of good people through the Rozz, but unfortunately lost touch with most of them and can't find them!Don was a wealth of information and he loved to socialize. He'd always lend one a helping hand.He also loved to dance whereas I can't dance (even though I'm amateur drummer) to save my life. I dance like a spastic three legged frog with two broken legs, LOL.I got a million stories I can tell on some of the crazy stuff we did during work an after work. Like the OBI South incident, LOLDon the "Rozz" Rozzi I'll miss our conversations & our Friendship / brotherhood. I'm sorry I didn't visit more often, but other crap just got in the way an it was always I'll be down next this and that. Now I'm coming down to Monroe to say goodbye to the best friend / brother a man can have."And YaHuah shall wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying. And there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." -- Hazon (Revelation) 21:4Ratson haba b'shem YaHuah
My Tio Don, it's been a long time , we've had great stories shared and tons of great memories. I will always have you close to my heart and will always remember the guidance you have me after my pops died . I love you Tio
Gone to soon. You are dearly missed. I remember the time that you helped me with the sale of the Jeep Wrangler. You were there for me from start to finish. I will never forget your help and your kindness. Thank you for that. Rest in peace Don and god bless you always.ðŸ™ðŸ™ðŸ™
For quite a few years the first call I had was with Don, quite often the last call of the day too. I miss it so much. I met him when he bought a 68 Pontiac Gran Prix from me. We have been friends ever since. So many road trips together finding parts and cars. So grateful for every minute. In my life he was the guy I could always count on and I made sure I was the same for him. The thing I admired most about him was how he woke up every day and tried even when he shouldn’t. Thank you Don for being you.
Don as you ascend through heaven’s gate you will be dearly missed by those fortunate enough to have known you.You and I have shared life experiences together from the Vietnam Era until your untimely decease. Your adventures are many and diverse, your accomplishments historic and your desire to help all who knew you were absolute. Don, you had a world of knowledge, and a great talent of looking at a situation or problem and coming up with a common-sense solution. Like designing my deck or giving me guidance on a multitudeof other projects. But most of all, you had a big heart. Your love for others and your unselfish demeaner were omnipresent and your zest for life was there to the end.Anna and I love you and will keep you in our thoughts until we meet again.Love always, Anna and Joel Tuchfeld
