I was so sorry to hear of Coach Price's passing. He was my coach and teacher at South Mecklenburg in the 60's. He also became a friend and we have talked just recently. He was a fine man and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers will be with his wife and family.

What an honor to have known and worked with Dave at South Mecklenburg and Providence Day. He inpsired his students, players, and colleagues with his integrity, compassion, and commitment and always had a kind word and ready smile for everyone. My sincere condolences to Coach Price's family. Coach Price was my favorite teacher at South Meck. back in the sixties. I have so many great memories of that history class and South Meck. High School. Coach Price was a really nice, fun man.
Mrs. P (Gloria):God works in unusual ways. For whatever reason, I went into the Charlotte Observer website today(3/22) and was shocked to the see the passing of my mentor and friend Coach Price. I remember vividly those 4 wonderful years at Providence Day School with you and Sandy sitting in the stands watching basketball games. How about the visit to Niagara Falls and Buffalo. As I write this, I have a tears in my eyes thinking about Providence Day basketball and how welcoming you and coach were to us northern folk. You made us feel at home in Charlotte. I remember Coach introducing me to Dean Smith and Bill Guthridge at the Carolina Basketball Coaches Camp. Coach took me under his wing, made a better coach and a better person. I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to David George Price family: So sorry for your loss. It is never easy and affect us all. Our loving God promises a time when we won't have to deal with death. (1Corinthians 15:26) And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing.(Acts 24:15) And I have hope toward God,which hope these men also look forward to. That there is going to be a resurrection for both the righteous and the unrighteousness.
