Christopher James Smith's Obituary
Christopher James Smith of Oakboro, NC passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. His funeral will be Sunday at 2 PM at First Baptist Church of Locust with Rev. Billy Rice, Pastor Brandon Bowers, and Dr. Tommy Ross, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 PM till 8 PM at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care in Albemarle.
Born July 23, 1973 in Cabarrus County, he is the son of Boyce ?Danny? James Smith and Sandra Kay Hartsell Smith McIntyre (Tommie) of Concord. Chris began his Emergency service career at the early age of 17 as a Firefighter and later became certified as a Paramedic working with Stanly County EMS for over nine years, also serving with Anson and Cabarrus County EMS. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Chris grew up playing Football and competed as a weightlifter.
He is survived by his wife Christine Smith of the home, son, Trevor Austin Smith, brother, Steven Smith (Melissa) of Locust, Nieces, Riley, Beth, and Dallas, Nephews, Hunter, Kayden, and Great-Nephew Levi, and Chris? dog, Shelby.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the crew at Davita in Harrisburg as well as the Nursing staff in the renal unit at CHS-NorthEast.
