Sue and family: I am truly sorry to learn of Charlie's passing. He has always been an outstanding person and James' family thought so much of him. He has always been a good example for all of us. May God be with you as you mourn. Sincerely, Alice T. Lewis (Pluty's wife)
Sue & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss.
Charlie was a force and had the biggest heart. I don't think a day went by in my childhood where I wasn't up at the Frye house snacking and getting well deserved business and of course tons of love from Mr. Frye. He & Sue treated me like one of their own and I will always be grateful. Charlie shared lots of wisdom and advice with me over the years that I have carried well into my adult life. But there is one in particular that rises to the surface for me at least once a week and keeps me in line: "Don't BS a BS'r Hartsock, because I'm the best damn BS'r there is." He had something clever for everyone and will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Love you Charlie and family!
Linda
I am deeply saddened to hear this. Charlie was a lifelong friend, mentor, and just an all around great guy! I always enjoyed our talks and would always leave the visit in a better mood than when I arrived. Charlie will be forever missed but his legacy will live on for a very long time. Charlie had the God given ability to connect with people often times in their darkest hours. I am thankful to have called him a friend. Sending love and prayers to Sue and the family. Heaven truly gained another good one. RIP Charles "G"

Sue and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have fond memories of Charlie from when my parents worked at Stanly Funeral Home.
Just a great friend, most times had that smile on his face and I can hear his laugh now. Loved his wife and girls with everything he had and was there unconditionally for all his friends . Have had many a laugh with Charlie and Sue, will miss him a lot. Heaven will never be the same❤️. Love ya
I will always remember Charlie’s smiling face and his kind words. I know he will be missed. Much love to Sue and the family.
So sorry to hear, though a lot of Charlie, he helped me out when my son passed and come out of retirement when my dad passed. I know he will be missed.
Sue, my last memory of Charlie is his telling me what a great cook you are and how nobody makes chicken ‘n dumplings like you. How lucky you were to be together for so long. Cherish all those wonderful memories. He will always be in your heart. Jane Ann Clapp
