Betty McKinney Hartsell's Obituary
Betty McKinney Hartsell passed away at Forrest Oakes Nursing Facility on July 6, 2021 at the age of 87.
Betty is predeceased by her husband, PL Hartsell; parents, Lawrence and Patty McKinney; sisters, Janelle Long and Joanne Litaker; and brothers, Lawrence and Roy McKinney.
Betty is lovingly remembered by her children, Larry Plowman (Donna), Kathy Barbee (Jack) and Kevin Plowman (Kennitha). She was known as “Granny” to her 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of Stanly County, Betty grew up in Badin and spent many years on Lake Tillery. She ultimately settled in New London. Betty was the owner of the much-loved Harmanco’s restaurant from the mid-1960s to mid- 1980s. She also worked at Central Lunch in her later years.
A private service will be held at a later date.
