Funny Story. The year was 1974. The location was Union St., Jersey City, NJ and it was Summer-Time. Barry and I were playing and somehow we started “fighting each other”. I was a scrawny skinny kid and Barry was “Husky”. Built like a truck for a kid. I didn’t stand a chance against him! His sister Gail or Brenda, I can’t remember which, and my sister Jackie came running out the houses and broke it up. Barry’s sister had a good grip on him, but my sister wasn’t really holding me that tightly, so I took the opportunity to swing and I snuck in a good one. I immediately turned around and ran towards the house with Barry in Hot pursuit! To make a long story short, I didn’t come out the house for 2 weeks! For a kid who loved to be outside playing in the summer, that’s an eternity. I remember looking out of the window watching everyone playing, and Barry looked up and said, You coming out”. I replied, no because you’re gonna get me. He assured me that he wouldn’t do anything, and I finally came out. Barry was true to his word, he didn’t do anything to me.
I saw Barry In Orlando, Fl, about 10 years ago, and we had a good laugh about that incident.
As the years pass, we all go our separate ways. When you grow up with people from way back, you know who they are, you know how they were raised, and you know the nature of and character of the person. Barry was a great person!
I extend my condolences from my family to his entire family.
Rest in Peace Bro
