I met Anthony in middle school, and she and a group of people I was close with would hang out almost constantly walking around our neighborhood telling stories and living life to our fullest. When Anthony left, I believe at the start of my high school career, we still trying to keep in touch the best we can we, had some sleepovers, he went to all of our birthday parties, and we would still make an attempt to tell stories with each other. He loved playing these fantastical characters in our stories and he would always try to be the hero, no matter what. And it is no surprise to find out that he decided that after high school he was going to join the military and be a hero to the nation. Anthony to me was one of the best people in my life when I was going through some hard times. The last time I talked to him, I vented about how much I disliked my life and how I’ve ruined so many relationships with people and he told me to keep my head up and keep marching forward, because that’s what heroes do. Anthony was an amazing hero and an even more amazing hero.
