Amos Dewey McLaurin, Jr., 90, of Cornelius, NC, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 in his son's home. His graveside service will be 11 am Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor James Lockler officiating. There will not be a formal visitation.
He was born July 11, 1931 in Port Elizabeth, NJ, to the late Amos Dewey McLaurin, Sr. and Mary Monkiewicz McLaurin. Amos retired from Stork Screens America. He was a Christian, Amos enjoyed fishing, camping, photography, cars and was a gifted artist. He was a master of fixing things and he enjoyed listening to classical music. He loved animals and feeding the birds and squirrels.
Amos is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Almond McLaurin on June 10, 2020, He is survived by a son, Alan McLaurin (Glenda) of Adams Run, SC, a daughter, Karen McLaurin Biles (Dennis) of Rochester, MN, a brother, John McLaurin of Ormond Beach, FL, six grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Mr. McLaurin is also preceded in death by a brother, Frank McLaurin.
