Even though I only knew Amos for a short time he always was a light in my day. I usually visited bare foot and he would always laugh at that and tell me to put my shoes on. The memory and part of him I will always cherish is the day we were talking (me bare foot) and he said hold on I have something for you. He brought out a box of Hazels shoes and asked if any would fit me. I didn’t know what to say. The box contained a pink camouflage slip of… I told Amos they would be great fire pit shoes. I accepted and I could tell it made him happy. He said Hazel had never worn them. I wear them working in the yard or walking Paddy and smile remembering Amos.
