Yoshiko Deese's Obituary
Mrs. Yoshiko Higa Deese, age 89, of Monroe, NC, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at her residence.
Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Turner Presbyterian Church, 4802 Lancaster Hwy, Monroe, NC, 28112, officiated by Reverend Charles Humphries. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Deese was born on July 6, 1927, in the city of Nago, Okinawa, Japan, a daughter of the late Eijiro Higa and the late Kame Yamanoha Higa. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Toshiko Higa; and her grandson Nathan Carpenter in 1999.
Survivors include her husband Fred Deese of Monroe, NC; her six daughters Etsuko Komine of Nago, Okinawa, Japan, Gail Carpenter, Therese Hines (David) all of Monroe, NC, Vivian Huneycutt (David) of Waxhaw, NC, Marian Deese of Monroe, NC and Beverly Eubanks (Jammie) of Monroe, NC; her fourteen grandchildren; her three great grandchildren; her three brothers Yukio Higa, Keiyu Higa and Tatsuo Higa; and her three sisters, Kazuko Higa Lerserth, Yasuko Higa and Sueko Higa.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night, June 27, 2017, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home at 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
