Wyman E. Morris' Obituary
Wyman Ernest Morris, 89, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016? in Trinity Place, Albemarle.? His funeral service will be 3 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Prospect Baptist Church with Pastor Stoney Benfield officiating.? Burial will follow in the church cemetery.? The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 until 2:45 prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
Born September 23, 1926 in Albemarle, NC, he was the son of the late Walter Cleveland Morris and Lillie Ann Hatley Morris.? He was a graduate of New London High School Class of 1943.? He formerly worked as a Foreman with Ware Knitters of Albemarle.? He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII in the Asian Theater and in the Korean Conflict.? He was a lifelong member of Prospect Baptist Church and served as a Deacon, Young Married Sunday School Teacher, and Choir member.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife Helen Jones Morris of the home.? Other survivors include sons Doug Morris of Albemarle and Terrell Morris of New London, daughter Ann Stuntz of Matthews, five grandchildren, Davey Morris, Megan Morris, Samantha Morris, Gage Stuntz, and Sloan Stuntz, four great-grandchildren, Bailey, Alex, Lillyan, and Alexis.? Wyman is preceded in death by his four brothers, James, Cecil, Marvin, and O.D. Morris and?four sisters, Eunice Wests, Louise Mesimer, Hattie Furr, and Jewel Morris.
