William Clemon Tomberlin's Obituary
Mr. William Clemon Tomberlin, age 81, of Wingate, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at CMC-Union.
Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2014, at East Campus of the First Baptist Church of Indian Trail in Marshville- 6140 W. Marshville Blvd., Marshville, NC 28103.
The family will receive friends following the memorial ceremony at the church.
Mr. Tomberlin was born on June 19, 1932, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late William Boyce Tomberlin and Gertrude Stegall Tomberlin.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Tomberlin and Joe Tomberlin.
He was a retired tile and masonry contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Knight Tomberlin of Wingate; two sons, Michael (Mike) Tomberlin of Wingate, and Jeffrey (Jeff) Tomberlin and wife, Nikki, of Greer, SC; a daughter, Pamela (Pam) Iannacci of Wingate; two sisters, Lorraine Mangum and husband, Tommy, of Wingate and Betty Hatley and husband, Van, of Albemarle; two brothers, Wayne Tomberlin and wife, Brenda, of Wingate and Johnny Tomberlin and wife, Jane, of Pageland, SC. There are four grandchildren, Caty Dover and husband, Ray, of Charlotte, Jackie Riggins and Matt Victory of Raleigh, Chase Tomberlin of Greer, SC and Bailey Tomberlin of Greer, SC. There is a great grandchild, Aden Dover of Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Campus, Building Fund, 6140 W. Marshville Blvd., Marshville, NC 28103 or the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte, (DSAGC) , PO Box 34787, Charlotte, NC 28234-4787, in honor of Clemon Tomberlin.
