William Stephen Mullis' Obituary
William Stephen "Hobo" Mullis, 63, of Marshville, passed away peacefully November 20, 2014 surrounded by his family.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Davis Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Born Aug. 17, 1951, he was predeceased by his father, Hazel Samuel Mullis; a sister, Patricia Caudle, and a brother, Wayne Mullis.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Joyce Mullis. They had a love that only they could understand as they held true to their vows. In sickness and health and through the good times and the bad, they were inseparable.
He had three children whom he loved unconditionally, each in his own unique way: Stephen Mullis Jr., "Boo" Mullis (Jamie) of Albemarle; Jason Mullis (Heather) of Peachland and Jessie Mullis (Candis) also of Peachland; and 10 grandchildren who made his world complete: Chris, Chassidy, Tyler, Conner, Madison, Justin, Aiden, Alexis, Kiara and Chance; his mother, Lois Mullis of Sanford; his father in law, Wade Elms of Monroe; brothers, Larry Mullis of Baltimore, Jeff Mullis of Concord, Charles Mullis (Tammy) of Archdale, Wade "Dooter" Elms Jr. of Pageland and Steve Love (Nell); sisters, Debra Fletcher (Bobby) of Sanford, Donna McDowell (Ross) of Middlesex, Kathy Lindley (Larry) of Siler City; Ann Cato (Jerry) of Abbeville, S.C., Sandra Suddareth (Donnie) of Sanford, Wanda Stillwell (Eric), Donna Singletary of Hope Mills, Alice Davis (Tom) of Monroe, Pam Edwards (David) of Marshville; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins he dearly loved.
Steve was well-known in the CB world known as HOBO, PAPA CHARLIE 517 and ham operators KF4ZBH. He enjoyed talking and meeting folks all around the world. He created a family of his own in doing so. He leaves many friends from the CB world.
