William Travis McDonald's Obituary
William Travis McDonald 81, of Albemarle NC, passed away on December 22, 2024, at his home.
William was born to Earl and Margaret Grace McDonald in Paris Texas on July 17, 1943.
He Graduate from Gibbons High School in 1962 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Services from California State University in 1975. He worked for Well Fargo Security and Los Angeles County School Security before becoming a Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff, retiring after 30 years of service in 2005.
William enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, working and restoring old cars, putting classic car puzzles together, and watching old cowboy movies over and over. He enjoyed going to movies and eating popcorn.
William is survived by his wife, Daisy, along with his daughter Crystal McDonald, (granddaughters Trinity and Teaira Johnson), Grandson William McDonald and Chase McDonald, and Son Gary McDonald, who all reside in Los Angeles, CA. Brother, Earl McDonald, and wife Ann McDonald, Washington DC. Brother and sister-in-Law Bill and Betty Norton California. Nephew Patrick McDonald Washington DC, Brother Robert McDonald Portland OR. Also, Patricia Mack, stepdaughter, Ricky Johnson stepson, Los Angeles, CA. A host of cousins and friends, too many to name.
He is predeceased by his Father Earl McDonald and mother Margaret Grace McDonald.
William McDonald, a proud US Navy Veteran, will be laid to rest in Salisbury Veterans National Cemetery at a later date.
