William R. Kendall, Jr. of New London passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in Bethany Woods Nursing Center.? A memorial service to honor his life will be held at Kendalls Baptist Church on Sunday at 3PM.? ???The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall at the conclusion of the memorial service.
Born November 19, 1915 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of William R. Kendall, Sr. and Jessie Shakelford Kendall. ?He was a graduate of New London High School and was a retired cabinet maker.? Mr. Kendall was a member of Kendalls Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII.? He enjoyed fishing and playing golf.
Mr. Kendall is survived by his wife Cirrie Griffin Kendall of the home, son Terrol Kendall and wife Linda of New London and daughter Judy Herrin and husband Ron of Pendleton, SC, grandchildren Tim Herrin, Teresa Mimms and Angela Kendall, and 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-greatgrandchild.? He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruby Coggins Kendall.
