William Vann Hilton's Obituary
Mr. William Vann Hilton, age 91, of Marshville, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016, at his residence.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, February 22, 2016, at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 5709 Philadelphia Church Road, Marshville, NC, officiated by Reverend Caroll Anthony. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Monday afternoon, prior to the funeral ceremony.
Mr. Hilton was born on March 21, 1924, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late William Lonnie Hilton and Lydia Tadlock Hilton. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Virgie Pope Hilton. He was also preceded by two sisters, Kate Sims and Wilma Allen, and his great grandson Ryan Hill, and a grandson-in -law Pat Boyles.
Mr. Hilton was a farmer and owner of HTH Farms and on the board of directors for Union Power Cooperative, and was also a US Army WW II veteran.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Hilton Woody and Ted of Matthews, Carol Hilton Ross and David of Marshville, and Marilyn Hilton Tucker and Richard of Marshville; one son, Barry Vann Hilton of Marshville; a brother, Carson Hilton of Matthews; eight grandchildren, Tony Woody and Heidi of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Lynn Boyles of Monroe, Mark Hollis and Stephanie of Marshville, Shannon Pierce and Marc of Marshville, Chris Tucker and Shirleen of Marshville, Dana Price and Chad of Marshville, Carmen Moorer and Chandler of Elgin, SC and Cameron Hilton of Marshville; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
