Mr. William (Bill) Polk Smith, Sr., age 75, of Polkton, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015..
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Davis Funeral Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112, officiated by Reverend Bill Griffin.
Interment will follow at Poplar Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Polkton, NC.
Mr. Smith was born on August 1, 1940, in Wayne County, North Carolina, a son of the late Joseph Polk Smith and Evelyn Daniels Glenham.
His mother, Evelyn, just passed away on October 4, 2015.
Bill was also preceded in death by a son, William (Billy) Polk Smith, Jr.
Bill retired from Security at CMC-Union with 20 plus years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda Greaver Smith of Polkton; two daughters, Donna Smith Autry of Weddington and Christina Smith Furr of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Sara Michelle Smith of Indian Trail, Jessica Graham of Charlotte, William Polk Smith III of Matthews, Grace Furr of Charlotte; there are three great grandchildren, Elijah Smith, Kalaya Smith and William "Luke" Smith all of Indian Trail.
THe family will receive friends Monday Night, October 12, 2015, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home.
