Virginia Louise ?Lulu? Poplin Barringer, 87, of New London passed away July 26, 2016 in her home.? Her funeral service will be 11 AM Friday July 29, 2016 in Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Mike Madaris officiating.? Burial will follow in the church cemetery.?? The family will greet friends following the service.
Born April 4, 1929 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Doc Poplin and Johnsie Foreman Poplin and was a receptionist at EJ Snyder for 25 years.? Mrs. Barringer was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Frank ?Chunk? Barringer Sr. in 2006.? Survivors include son Lloyd Barringer Jr. and wife Beverly of Rock Hill, SC, and grandchildren Katelyn Barringer and Lloyd ?Tripp? Barringer III.? A brother Charles Monroe Poplin preceded her in death.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Merry Widows of Highland Baptist Church PO Box 176, New London, NC 28127.
