Virgie Hilton's Obituary
Mrs. Virgie Pope Hilton, age 87, of Marshville, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at her residence.
A Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Virgie Pope Hilton will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Philadelphia Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Caroll Anthony.
Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Hilton was born on December 29, 1926, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late A.C. Pope and Catherine Thomas Pope. She was a retired seamstress in hosiery manufacturing.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandson Ryan Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Vann Hilton of Marshville, NC; a son, Barry V. Hilton of Marshville, NC; three daughters, Judy Woody (Ted) of Matthews NC, Carol Ross (David) of Marshville, NC, and Marilyn Tucker (Richard) of Marshville, NC; additional survivors include four grandsons, Mark Hollis, Tony Woody, Chris Tucker and Cameron Hilton; four granddaughters, Lynn Boyles, Shannon Pierce, Dana Price and Carmen Moorer; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 5709 Philadelphia Church Road, Marshville, NC 28103.
