Vicki Cooper Blake's Obituary
Vicki Ann Cooper Blake, 92, of Oakboro, passed away peacefully on January 21st, 2026.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 29th, at Oakboro Cemetery, with Rev. Jeremy Blake officiating. Burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery, where her cremated remains will be buried beside her late husband, Earnest “Leon” Blake, and her son, Earnest “Lonnie” Blake Jr.
Born December 17th, 1933, in Stanly County, North Carolina, Vicki was the daughter of the late Raymond Lee Cooper and Mary Allene Stoker Cooper.
She was a graduate of Albemarle High School and was retired from Stanly Knitting Mill in Oakboro, where she worked as an inspector. Her family will remember her as feisty and strong-willed, a natural caregiver who was deeply dedicated to her family. She was resilient and cherished, and her strength and love will long be remembered.
Vicki was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest “Leon” Blake, who passed away on September 12th, 2003, and by a son, Earnest “Lonnie” Blake Jr., who passed away on April 1st, 2009.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie B. Cagle (Steve) of Salisbury and Lisa Blake of Oakboro; five grandchildren, Derrick Cagle, Shaina Lewis (Ryan), Kelly Cagle, Josh Whitley, and Cheyanne Brewer (Cordiares); nine great-grandchildren, Kailynn, Dylin, Addison, Mavryc, Caedyn, Cylan, Kolston, Cylis, and Merritt; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Blake of Albemarle, and a cousin Becky Mintzer.
