Van Allen Starnes, 48 of Monroe, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center, Main in Charlotte, NC. He was a native of Union County, born September 27, 1966 .
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Canaan Baptist Church, conducted by the Reverend Bobby Cato. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, 1003 E. Franklin Street, Monroe, NC.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Griffin Starnes, a son, Casey Allen Starnes of Harmony, NC, his father, Joseph Starnes of Monroe, NC and his grandmother, Clara Mabe of Monroe, NC. He was predeceased by his mother Susie Mabe Starnes and a daughter Julie Marie Starnes.
Additional survivors include two brothers, Nelson Starnes ( Leeann) and Larry Starnes ( Monica) both of Monroe, NC. He is survived by a sister Annette Smith (Kenny) of Wingate and 7 nieces and 2 nephews.
