Tommie ?Fran? Efird's Obituary
Tommie Frances ?Fran? Efird, 78, of Norwood went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 18, 2015.? Her funeral will be 2 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lanny Lancaster officiating.? Burial will follow at a later time in Saint Martin?s Lutheran Church Cemetery.? The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the hour of the service.
Mrs. Efird was born on April 24, 1937 to the late Thomas Cagle and Margaret Burris Cagle and was a former secretary with Efird Insulating of Norwood.? She also worked part time with Tony?s Furniture in Troy.? She was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
Mrs. Efird was married to the late Ralph Junior Efird Sr. who preceded her in death in 1998.? Survivors include son Ralph Efird Jr. and wife Susan of Norwood, daughter Linda Stewart and husband Tony of Mt. Gilead, sisters Helen Biles of York, SC, Nancy Atkins of Asheboro and Terri Misenheimer of York, SC, ?6 grandchildren: Michele Bivens, Brandon Smith, Jesse Eudy, Jacob Efird Eudy, Crystal Efird, and Tara Blalock, 3 step-grandchildren: Tammy Glover, Tannya Patterson, and Toni Epperson, 6 great-grandchildren: Hunter, Hayley and Jaxon Bivens, Corbin Smith, Lillian Eudy and Mazie Eudy, 8 step great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great-grandchildren. A daughter Diane Epperson preceded her in death.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
